In the early to mid 1980's... when cable TV was relatively new in Milwaukee, Wisconsin... we used to receive the local Chicago, IL stations. There was a program on one station called "AM Chicago" with host Oprah Winfrey. We used to watch and say, "They should put her on national TV like Phil Donahue". Well "they" did and the rest as "they" say is history.
Oprah is like this center of a huge energy vortex and has done more for higher thought, inclusion and personal empowerment than anyone ever. It's her gift. How does she handle it? Heaven only knows, but the Universe has designated her to be an uplifting light for folks from all walks of life, and she delivers and shines, centered in Spirit Itself. Thanks, Oprah.
The "Oprah Polka!" song is my tribute to the lady herself. As with many of my songs this one just popped through my brain without a previous thought. Because I began a meditation practice four years ago, It's creation was a listening experience... what the Universe wanted to say through me... a new baby... straight from the Universal. You might say it was a "Power Of Now" experience... the "Stillness Speaking"... Thank You Spirit. And now that Oprah is actively helping to enlighten many folks with her online class with Eckhart Tolle, I feel the timing is right to release the song. I like it when it happens this way... nothing previously planned until the revealment... Universal Consciousness individualized... guided by the flow of the Infinite Organizing Power of the Universe.
And now... The celebration! Let's sing and dance and live a brighter way! Let's do the "Oprah Polka!"
P.S. I wrote the song "Oprah Polka!" in late January 2007, about a week before I wrote the song "Brett Favre Boogie!" (Now there's an interesting pairing, don't cha think?! Brett Favre and Oprah Winfrey!) (Well... maybe not... but I just thought I'd throw it out there for what it's worth) (Maybe Brett's gonna team up with Oprah on a project now that he's got a little more time on his hands... Ha!).
